Primoris Belgium involved in first QS training in Belgium about correct product sampling
Primoris Belgium has achieved continuous approval by the German quality System QS “Qualitát und Sicherheit” and this since 2006.
Since Primoris wants to support the sector in different ways, we often engage in sharing our knowledge through seminars, trainings and demonstrations.
This year, both Primoris Belgium and CKCert, part of the Primoris group, had an active role in a training for Belgian coordinators and wholesalers, organized by QS and in cooperation with the VBT (Verbond van Belgische Tuinbouwcoöperaties). The training dealt with the correct sampling for the residue monitoring of fruits, vegetables and potatoes. To secure representative sampling, the participants got precise guidelines for the technical implementation. Moreover, typical sources of mistakes and contamination were identified.
Hans Braeckman of Primoris explained in short what the impact of sampling can be on the final analytical result. The reliability of the analysis report is not only determined by reliable analytical lab procedures but also by correct sampling. The correct sampling will result in a good laboratory sample that is a guarantee for a report related to the sampled lot.
Furthermore, Carina Gotto (QS) informed the audience about current developments within the QS residue monitoring and explained how the scheme participants were able to evaluate their own analysis results in the QS database by using different specifications. Further, Brigitta Wolf (Vegaplan), Hans Braeckman (Primoris) and Ann de Craene (VBT) lead through the theoretical part.
In the practical part of the workshop the participants received helpful tips for sampling by Tom Bolsens of the certification company CKCert.
